General Hospital (GH) and Days of Our Lives (DOOL) fans probably noticed on Wednesday that veteran soap actor Wally Kurth (Ned, GH/Justin, DOOL) wasn’t having much luck in love on two different networks. In fact, his characters were solid rejected on both soaps in one day!
The Backstory
While an actor will occasionally portray characters on two soaps at once, it’s highly unusual to see the same actor’s characters have such similar bad luck in love in one afternoon.
On GH, Ned proposed to Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), but she wasn’t ready to take things to the next level. While she believes in love, marriage is something else entirely. Ultimately, that wasn’t enough for Ned.
Meanwhile, on DOOL, after months of deciding, Adrienne (Judi Evans) announced that she chose Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) rather than Justin as the man she loves and wants to spend her life with. Her battle with cancer brought her clarity as to the love of her life.
Even Kurth had some fun with it on social media, pointing out the irony of both rejections airing the same day despite how far apart he taped the scenes on each soap.
