Sweeps Surprise! Will November Sweeps Be Worth Waiting For?!

Soap opera sweeps months are the time when all the usual love, hate, death, romance, angst, and blackmail is turned up to 11! It’s the four times of the year when each show’s ratings determine how much the network can charge advertisers, which means that every eyeball counts!

As a result, soaps go out of their way to make each day a can’t miss episode. At least, that’s the plan. Are fans looking forward to November 2017 sweeps? We asked over 10,000 of you for your take.

Try To Remember To Watch In November
Bring it on, cheer 80% of you! You are expecting a sizzling November sweeps. On The Young and the Restless (YR), there is bound to be fallout from Victor (Eric Braeden) bankrupting Nick (Joshua Morrow), and Billy (Jason Thompson) going behind Phyllis’s (Gina Tognoni) back to help his and Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) company.

And the ensuing fireworks should pull in Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Jack (Peter Bergman), and Ashley (Eileen Davidson).

Plus, we’ve got the Will fallout on Days Of Our Lives (DOOL), Thorne’s return to The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) in the form of fan favorite Ingo Rademacher, and, hopefully, a resolution to the two Jasons problem on General Hospital (GH)!

It’s Just Another Month
On the other hand, 20% of you worry that it won’t be anything special. GH will continue to talk endlessly about the two Jasons, B&B will be lather-rinse-repeat scenes of Bill (Don Diamont) scheming, on DAYS we’ll get more mistaken identity shenanigans, and Y&R will keep pushing sex-trafficked newbies down our throats.

You’d be more excited about sweeps if you were excited about what was on the air now. It’s not worth looking forward to the payoff of a story you don’t currently care about. Will the soaps be able to prove you wrong in November?
