Soap vet Rick Hearst has appeared on every soap opera currently on the air but today he has something even better to celebrate!
That’s because he was born on January 4, 1965, in Queens, New York, which means that he’s turning 53 years old today!
He’s been known as Ric Lansing on General Hospital, Whip Jones on The Bold and the Beautiful, Matt Clark on The Young and the Restless, and Scotty Banning on Days of Our Lives. He also earned an Emmy as Alan Michael Spaulding on the now defunct soap, Guiding Light.
While he was born in New York, Hearst attended Plano Senior High School in Plano, Texas. He holds a black belt in Karate and trained at Tiger Schulmann’s Karate in Yonkers, New York.
He’s also appeared on the primetime show Beverly Hills, 90210, as well as Jenny, Maggie Winters, Charmed, Pacific Blue, Castle, The Vampire Diaries, and the Dynasty reboot. You’ve also seen him on the TV show Daytime Divas with former Desperate Housewives star, Vanessa Williams.
Hearst has been nominated for seven Daytime Emmy Awards, winning Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for his role on GL in 1991 and later for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2004 and 2007 for GH.
On the personal front, he has been married to Donna Smoot since June 9, 1990. They have two children together — sons Cameron and Nicholas.
