It’s only a few weeks before Ingo Rademacher is expected to make his triumphant return to General Hospital, after playing the role of Thorne on The Bold and the Beautiful last year, but now he has even more reason to celebrate.
That’s because he was born on April 22, 1971, in Iserlohn-Letmathe, Germany, which means he’s turning 48 years old today! When he was a young child, his family moved from Germany to Australia, where he grew up on a 400-acre cattle and Angora goat station.
Loving water sports, by 16, he had become a lifeguard and soon he was a model in Brisbane and Sydney. From there, he won his first acting role playing Sean Hayden on the Australian Series Paradise Beach.
But he wouldn’t stay Down Under for too long. He made the big move to Los Angeles back in 1994 and by 1996, he found himself with his first soap role in the States — playing Jax on General Hospital.
From there, guest spots on primetime began to happen on TV shows like Clueless and Veronica’s Closet and then later in 2000, he landed the role of David on Titans. He had recurring roles on According to Jim, Hawaii Five-0, and Counterpart. He also played the role of Ingo Sacks in the movie Alex Cross.
Last year he shocked the soap world when it was revealed he would be taking over the role of Thorne Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful.
After being paired with Heather Tom’s Katie, it seemed like things were taking off but after a year, he and the show parted ways, leaving the door open for his return to GH as Jax, scheduled for this May.
