The soap opera ratings race for the week ending February 25 showed increased numbers for both General Hospital and The Young and the Restless, but sinking numbers for Days of Our Lives.
General Hospital
General Hospital remained in third place out of four soaps overall, but saw the most improvements over any show from the week before.
It garnered 2,680,000 viewers on average, up 139,000 from the previous week, yet down 288,000 from the previous year. GH also made improvements from the week before in all three female demographics.
The Young and the Restless
The Young and the Restless kept its perpetual number one spot, pulling in 4,508,000 viewers on average, up 85,000 from the week before, yet down 459,000 from the year before.
Like GH, Y&R also saw improvements from the week before in all three women’s demos.
Days of Our Lives
Both Days of Our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful didn’t fare as well. DAYS remained in last place, garnering 2,140,000 viewers on average, down 123,000 from the week before and 213,000 from the same time last year. DAYS lost viewers in all female demos, scoring a record low with women 18-34.
The Bold and the Beautiful
B&B kept its number two perch, pulling in 3,722,000 viewers, down 57,000 from the previous week and 44,000 from the previous year. Unlike DAYS, it did make gains from the week before with women 18-34 and 18-49.
