Kerr Smith is a film and television actor who is best known for his main role on the hit television show, Dawson’s Creek. He has also been on television shows such as Charmed, The Fosters, and most recently, Riverdale. Smith also got his start on a soap.

Along with his TV work, Smith has also been in movies like Final Destination and My Bloody Valentine. From where he was born and raised to making history on TV, here are five fast facts about the actor.

Who Is Kerr Smith?

Smith was born on March 9 in Exton, Pennsylvania to parents Barbara and Rick Smith. He grew up with his sister, Allison, and attended Peirce Middle School before graduating from Henderson High School. He then went on to study at the University of Vermont.

Soap Beginnings
After graduating from college, Smith moved to New York City to pursue acting full-time. He was then cast as Ryder Hughes on As the World Turns, a role he played in the mid-1990s — and worked opposite Jordana Brewster.

Making History
Smith was cast as Jack McPhee on Dawson’s Creek in 1998, a role he had until 2003. Not only was he on a very popular show, but his character was also groundbreaking. In fact, his kiss with Adam Kaufman in Season 3 was considered the first passionate gay male kiss on primetime television.

Business Owner

Along with his acting career, Smith is also an entrepreneur. He owns the Venice Beach Beer Company and TerraLife Wellness with his wife. TerraLife helps people understand how best to take care of their bodies.

Getting Personal With Kerr Smith
Smith married actress Harmoni Everett on June 7, 2003, but the couple divorced in March 2009. He then went on to marry health and wellness businesswoman Lisa Smith in August 2017.
