 Comments

Roger paid big time crossing Alex. First, she publicly humiliated him at the country club and then sent a vengeful Billy in Roger’s director, informing the oilman that his “nouveau riche princess” had been sleeping with her husband — his worst enemy.

Roger and Alex got back into bed (figuratively) when he helped her break up Nick and Mindy in exchange for half of WSPR. Roger learned he had a son – Hart – with the late Laura.

History Repeats
Roger saved Holly after she was taken captive by unbalanced Daniel St. John. Later, Roger played hero again when Holly was taken captive once more, this time along with Michelle — by his associate John Davis — and also saved Ed’s life as he hung on for dear life after toppling over a railing at the cliff house.

Grateful, Holly made love to Roger but was smart enough to know they couldn’t have a future. Broken-hearted by her rejection, Roger wed jewel thief Jenna Bradshaw on the rebound. Billy went to jail for pumping lead into Roger after he got on everyone’s last nerve once again.

Someone’s In The Kitchen
Angry over Holly’s marriage to Fletcher, Ross and Blake’s wedding, and Vanessa having custody of Peter (Hart’s son), Roger turned the tables and wed Dinah Marler! After Dinah got wise to Roger’s wicked ways – and fell for Hart – she got out of the marriage, leaving Roger to ally himself with fiancé Amanda Spaulding. After one last failed attempt to reunite with Holly, Roger wed Amanda Spaulding and left town.

The Final Act
Years after actor Michael Zaslow passed away in real-life, Roger’s death was written into the show. Foes Alan and Phillip weren’t shedding any tears. The mysterious Sebastian, claiming to be Roger’s son, arrived on the scene with Roger’s urn and a letter from him.

Sebastian enacted a scheme of his own, drawing Holly and Michelle (daughter of the late Maureen, one of Roger’s few allies) into his web before leaving Springfield. Roger was gone but never forgotten. His impact on Holly and others stayed with them for the rest of their lives.
