Sure, some soap opera bosses may be a dream come true but there are plenty out there that would have you running for cover if you worked for them. Here are some of the worst in soapland.
The Young and the Restless
Can you imagine working for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)? The Mustache is one tough boss – just ask any of his kids.
He’s brought the hammer down on Nick and Victoria more than once and now poor Abby may get a taste of what it’s like to disappoint the man whose approval she wants more than anything in the world. There’s a reason the man’s biography is called Ruthless.
General Hospital
While Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) may seem like a cool chick and probably a fun boss, guess again. She sent Nelle (while she still liked her) to get a love nest ready for her in the middle of a blinding snowstorm! First of all – ew and very inappropriate. Second, she hardly seems so incredibly busy these days that she can’t do something nice for her husband all on her own. Third, she had Nelle doing stuff at all hours of the day and on her day off. Geez, we sure hope she pays more than minimum wage at least!
Days of Our Lives
Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) may seem like a man in command, but frankly he seems several sandwiches short of a Brady Pub-provided picnic. The law be damned, he ordered hits and kidnappings, all to cover up his double-dealings for the Orwell Device, and poor Sonny ended up paying the price. Tired of working for a tyrant, Sonny has plans to dethrone his boss. Don’t we all wish we could do that?
The Bold and the Beautiful
The saying that blood is thicker than water may not stand true much longer for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and her sister Coco. True, Coco doesn’t work for her sister (that she knows of at least), but she sure has put her in an awful position. This h wouldn’t have been necessary if Sally had any clue how to run a fashion house. Poor Saul had to work around the clock to make some kind of stupid random deadline that Sally foolishly gave out for their line to be revealed. Sorry, Sally doesn’t show great leadership qualities – we know we wouldn’t want to work for her!
