According to rumors and unconfirmed reports, Mal Young, who joined The Young and the Restless as executive producer nearly three years ago, no longer has the job.
Highlight Hollywood claims that Young no longer holds his EP and head writer titles and veteran writer and producer Josh Griffith will be taking the reigns at the 45-year-old soap.
The Twitter soap universe was abuzz with the news on Monday night, although it’s not confirmed.
The Highlight Hollywood report claims with CBS president Les Moonves out after allegations of sexual harassment, he can no longer protect Young’s job.
Young first announced he joined Y&R on New Year’s Eve in 2015. He had already made a name for himself across the pond on British soaps.
However, many fans have griped that American soaps and UK soaps are different in both tone and format and Young was making mistakes letting Y&R look more like a British daytime drama.
Josh Griffith has been with Y&R on and off since 2006, with his last writing duties starting in 2012. He lasted one year and was soon writing for Days of Our Lives from 2015 to 2017.
The news about both Young and Griffith are both uncomfirmed, and Soap Hub will keep you informed as we learn more.
