He has been beloved in the soap world for decades and while he may not be on daytime right now, soap veteran Billy Warlock is celebrating something very special today.
That’s because he was born on March 26, 1961, in Gardena, California, which means he’s turning 62 years old today.
Warlock got his start with small roles in movies like Halloween II but it was his recurring role as Leopold ‘Flip’ Phillips on Happy Days that really put him on the map. Lots of parts soon followed, including winning the coveted role of Frankie Brady on Days of our Lives in 1986 opposite Melissa Reeves (Jennifer). They played out a tender love story that fans fell in love with.
He stayed there for a couple of years (and later returned for a couple more in 2005) but in 1989, he joined the cast of the successful series Baywatch with former The Young and the Restless star, David Hasselhoff (ex-Snapper). It wouldn’t be until 2007 that Warlock would appear on YR too — as Ben Hollander.
But perhaps it was his role as AJ Quartermaine that sealed it for daytime fans — they absolutely adored him as the black sheep of the Quartermaine family and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) nemesis. He played the role from 1997 until 2003.
Warlock went on to also play Anthony Blackthorn on As the World Turns in 2010, as well as Ross Rayburn on One Life to Live that same year.
He also appeared as the infamous Lyle Menendez in Honor Thy Father and Mother: The True Story of the Menendez Murders, with James Farentino and Jill Clayburgh.
The handsome actor has been married to soap vet Julie Pinson (ATWT, DAYS, Port Charles, YR) since August 26, 2006. Soap Hub wishes Billy Warlock a very happy birthday and you can too by clicking on the Twitter link below.
