Olivia d’Abo has gone from teen star to soap star. The actress joined the soap opera The Bay last year and immediately became a hit. Her performance as Fifi Garrett earned the actress a well-deserved 2025 Emmy nomination.

Key Takeaways

  • Olivia d’Abo is famous for her role on The Wonder Years.
  • The actress was one of the many big-name stars to join The Bay in 2024.
  • Her role as Fifi earned d’Abo a Daytime Emmy nomination for Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series.

Journey to Soap Star

Many fans know d’Abo from her role as Karen Arnold on the hit TV series The Wonder Years. The actress portrayed Kevin’s older sister from 1988 til 1993. Aside from her TV role, d’Abo also starred in the big-screen films Conan the Destroyer, Wayne’s World 2, and Greedy.

After a long career in film and primetime TV, d’Abo decided to switch to daytime TV. In 2024, the actress joined the cast of season 9 of The Bay, alongside Dee Wallace and Tristan Mack Wilds.

D’Abo debuted later that year as Fifi Garrett, the daughter of Lex Martin (Tristan Rogers) and Liza Garrett (Ilene Kristen). Fifi is known as a girl boss who blows into town, already causing trouble.

While fans are accustomed to d’Abo playing a good girl, the actress showed off her bad girl side with Fifi. The newest Garrett proved to be a force to be reckoned with at Garrett Industries. d’Abo did a marvelous job as Fifi asserted her dominance, especially when she clashed with Justin Ramos (Jordi Vilasuso). The two proved to be fantastic scene partners as the enemies are forced to work together for the sake of the company.

Honored With A Nomination

D’Abo has been a great addition to The Bay, and her performance as Fifi has earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination. She has been nominated and won many awards throughout her career, and now she may take home a Daytime Emmy.

The awards ceremony will be a big night for the actress. Not only does she have a shot at winning the coveted trophy, but she’ll reunite with her former The Wonder Years co-star. Alley Mills, who played d’Abo’s mother on the ABC comedy, is nominated for Guest Performer for her role as Heather on General Hospital. Perhaps we’ll be treated to a red-carpet photo of d’Abo and Mills.
