Dee Wallace, star of several classic horror films, as well as appearing on General Hospital, has been cast on the streaming soap, The Bay. In an ironic twist, she’ll play a role that has a connection to the late soap star, Jacklyn Zeman.
Wallace Returns to Daytime
Not to be confused with her appearance in the 2019 British crime-drama series called The Bay — which IMDb lists her as having been in “unknown episodes” — horror icon Dee Wallace will be appearing on the unrelated web-streaming American crime-drama, also called The Bay. The actress, who is beloved for her appearances in a string of hit films that include The Howling (1981), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), and Cujo (1983), among dozens of others, guest-starred on GH in 2015 when she played Patricia Spencer, older sister to Luke (Anthony Geary), and Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman). That character was part of a pivotal story in which we learned the secret origin of the legendary Luke. (Learn more about Luke’s tragic tale.)
Her performance on the soap earned Wallace a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Performance in a Daytime Drama Series. In what may be an homage to her GH role, Wallace has been cast as Charlotte Grace, who is the sister of Zeman’s Sofia Madison, according to Michael Fairman TV.
Zeman, who had been doing double duty on GH and The Bay, passed away in May 2023 from cancer, and in December of that year, the web series honored her with a special tribute. The show’s official Instagram page wrote, “Our 100th episode special will feature a montage tribute to honor TV legends Jacklyn Zeman and Nicolas Coster in their roles as psychic medium Sofia Madison and Mayor Jack Madison.” Coster had also died in June 2023.
We’re not sure what juicy storylines Wallace’s Charlotte will be embroiled in just yet, but we’re itching to find out!
