Soap Hub looks at the Hits and Misses for the week of November 25-29 in the worlds of Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless.
Top 10 Hits and Misses
#10 MISS: Kyle, Jack (Peter Bergman), and Diane begin to iron out the mess that is their relationship on Y&R. Kyle (Michael Mealor) finally admitted that he undermined his mom while he was at Jabot. That was huge, although we weren’t totally sure how sincere his confession was. Unfortunately, he still doubled down on his bitter takes…until Diane (Susan Walters) said she would sacrifice her co-CEO job for Kyle. That was when it seemed to finally hit him that Diane was sincere in her love for him and sorry for abandoning him and faking his death. But has Kyle truly learned a lesson or anything about himself here? Doubtful.
#9 MISS: DAYS’s Javi drops multiple digs designed to irritate Rafe and Jada and affect their relationship. Is it just us, or does Javi (Al Calderon) seem to enjoy messing with Rafe (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantu)? It’s like he enjoys instigating a little drama at their expense. What gives? It’s odd, and it makes us mistrust him.

#8 HIT: GH’s Michael records Drew doublecrossing Curtis. Michael (Chad Duell) working against Sonny (Maurice Benard) wasn’t a fun story. Do you know what is? Michael has all the knowledge of what Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) did and then resorts to payback. Michael records Drew as he admits he wants Curtis (Donnell Turner) nowhere near the top spot at Aurora was chef’s kiss. More of this version of Michael, please.
#7: MISS: B&B’s Brooke rats out Hope and then attempts to minimize Ridge’s anger against her daughter. Last week, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) revealed Hope (Annika Noelle) and Carter’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) coup was our favorite moment. This week, we’re still on board. However, she needed to stop attempting to minimize her daughter’s actions so Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) wouldn’t unleash holy hell on her daughter. Brooke can’t have it both ways. She can’t whistleblow her daughter’s scheme and then try to soften the blowback.

#6: HIT: Also on B&B, Ridge unleashes on Carter and gives him an ultimatum. Yikes, as much as we think Carter has been an invaluable member of the Forrester C-Suite team, trying to take a family business away from the family is not smart. Also, it adds up to complete betrayal. And Ridge made sure Carter knew that. For some reason, he decided to give Carter a second chance…as long as he breaks up with Hope.
#5: MISS: GH’s Lulu walks after four years in a coma. We don’t blame Lulu (Alexa Havins) for wanting to get out of dodge, aka Turning Woods. She doesn’t associate anything good with Cyrus (Jeff Kober). And he acted hella shady and irrationally overprotective of Lulu. Then, there was this sudden transfer to another facility. However, the girl has been comatose for four years. Yes, she mildly struggled to get back up on her feet. But the fact that she was walking two seconds later instead of being a permanent puddle on the floor was crazy. Not only did she make it out of the facility, but she made it back to Port Charles, thanks to Cody (Josh Kelly).
#4 HIT: Y&R’s Billy/Nikki confrontation. With his belongings packed up in one sad Abbott Chancellor box, Billy (Jason Thompson) ran into Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) on the way out. He let her have it for her part in Victor (Eric Braeden) swiping Chancellor out from under Billy’s control. He even threw Lily (Christel Khalil) in her face in front of Claire (Hayley Erin). We’re here any time Nikki and Victor hear about the consequences of their controlling actions.

#3 HIT: On GH, Rocco sees Lulu. The good part of Lulu being able to walk almost instantly after four years in a coma is that she got back to PC and, first, she interacted with James (Gary James Fuller). Next, she went over to the Quartermaine house, where she ran into Rocco (Finn Francis Carr), who was all grown up. It was a great cliffhanger moment.
#2 HIT: GH’s Ric questions Kristina during Ava’s trial. Ric (Rick Hearst) shows every reason why he may not make a great human being, but he certainly makes a great attorney. He absolutely establishes reasonable doubt, and the best part is that because of him, Kristina (Kate Mansi) has to acknowledge that the baby she carried was also TJ’s (Tajh Bellow) because it hasn’t always been apparent that she’s ever realized that.

#1 HIT: The November 29 episode of DAYS where Julie must say goodbye to Doug. It’s a beautiful but utterly heartbreaking episode where we witness Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) say goodbye to Doug (the late Bill Hayes). Plus, her family and friends showed up to support her and remember the man who was so important to the landscape of Salem. There were flashbacks, characters we hadn’t seen in a while, and hugs. At the end, there was hope for Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Bo (Peter Reckell).
Honorable Mentions
HIT: On B&B, when Electra (Laneya Grace) reconnects with Remy (Christian Weissmann), they are friends. He wasn’t a straight-up stalker, at least not with Electra. She’s happy to see him. We know better, however. It was an unexpected moment we enjoyed.
HIT: GH’s Trina sits on Ava’s side of the courtroom. Trina (Tabyana Ali) walked into the courtroom with Joss (Eden McCoy) and others. And while everybody immediately sat down on Kristina’s side of the room, Trina chose to veer the other way and support her friend Ava (Maura West).
MISS: Also on GH, Why wasn’t Nina sitting right by Trina at the trial? Ava’s side could have used one more person. Nina (Cynthia Watros). Where was she?
HIT: While it’s understandable why DAYS’ Cat did what she did, it’s good that her victims are angry as hell at her. We felt the slap Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) gave Cat. As much as we’re liking AnnaLynne McCord’s Cat, what she did was truly awful. And the anger against Cat shouldn’t dissipate anytime soon. Julie and Jennifer’s resentment, mistrust, and pure fury were deserved and should continue.
MISS: Y&R’s Sharon is ostracised in her own establishment. Crimson Lights customers were giving her nasty looks because of her confession and her being out on bail. They know she owns Crimson Lights, right? Why go there? Just avoid the place altogether. It would be more realistic if Crimson Lights suddenly had no customers because they wanted to avoid Sharon, the murderer.
