Days of our Lives Casting
Hank Northrop, the son of former DAYS star Wayne Northrop (ex-Roman Brady and ex-Alan North) and Lynn Herring (Lucy, GH) makes his DAYS debut on Wednesday, October 29. (News of Northrop’s addition to the cast broke last February.) He’s playing Liam, Abe’s (James Reynolds) literacy mentee. Look for Northrop to interact with Reynolds and Susan Seaforth Hayes’ Julie.
Melissa Reeves is back as Jennifer Deveraux. She shares scenes with Billy Flynn’s Chad on Tuesday, October 28.

Cary Christopher, who plays Thomas DiMera, has exited the soap, although he’s still appearing in current episodes. He confirmed his departure on Facebook. “Yes it is true. I left Days of our Lives several months ago, because I booked a role as a series regular for a new show coming to Amazon Prime in 2026,” shared Christopher, referring to It’s Not Like That. “Days of our Lives was such a dream set to work on. I started on this beloved soap when I was just 4. How lucky am I that I got to call it my home for almost 6 years!? I have been so blessed to always be busy working, but because of that I couldn’t be in two places at once and I had to leave the show to go work on other projects.”
Christopher also gave a shout-out to Billy Flynn, who plays Chad, calling him “the best TV dad a kid could have” and noting that it was “so great working with” and “learning from” him. Cary airs this week on Friday, October 31.
Meanwhile, it appears that Alice Halsey, who plays Rachel Black, will also be exiting the soap. Halsey nabbed the lead role of Laura Ingalls in the Little House on the Prairie reboot on Netflix earlier this year. In fact, she was the first cast member confirmed for the new series. Hence, she’ll eventually be leaving the soap, and the role of Rachel will be recast.

Roger Howarth is set to make his long-awaited Y&R debut, and his mystery character’s identity has finally been revealed. He’s playing Mitch Bacall, the husband of Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) and co-owner of The Shadow Room, a Los Angeles nightclub. Howarth, best known for his role as Todd Manning on One Life to Live and GH, also played Franco Baldwin and Austin Gatlin-Holt on GH, among other daytime roles. (Here’s a rundown of Howarth’s background and career.) His Y&R gig is reportedly short-term.

Wise was last seen on the soap in January, when his character was carted off in an ambulance. The actor discussed his last run on Y&R in a previous Soap Hub interview.

Meanwhile, Erika Slezak is back as Ronnie Bard, the late Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) sister. (Slezak took to GH’s Instagram account to share her thoughts about working on the show.) Look for the character to make an announcement that shocks the Quartermaine clan on Wednesday, October 29. Could it be that she’s leaving Port Charles? It was reported that Slezak, who began airing on September 26, completed filming her scenes on GH the same day.
