Here is the latest comings and goings casting news for the week of September 14-18 from all five daytime dramas: The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and Beyond the Gates.
The Young and the Restless Casting
Y&R’s budding Nate (Sean Dominic) and Stephanie (Vivica A. Fox) romance is on hold just as it’s getting started. Fox is taking a break from her role as Dr. Stephanie Simmons to film the Netflix comedy Women Like Us starring Whoopi Goldberg, Jenifer Lewis, and Vanessa Williams.
The actress shared the news on Instagram, thanking the soap for its “awesome luv n support,” while adding the hopeful words, “until next time.” Fox is onscreen this week. She airs on Wednesday, September 16. Fox spoke out about her emotional return to Y&R last April.
Kate Linder pops in as Esther Valentine. She has scenes at Crimson Lights opposite Michael Mealor’s Kyle on Wednesday, September 16.
Roger Howarth returns as Matt Clark. He interacts with Michelle Stafford’s Phyllis on Tuesday, September 15. He also shares scenes with Stafford, Sharon Case’s Sharon, and Joshua Morrow’s Nick on Friday, September 18.
Stacy Haiduk continues to lurk around Genoa City as escaped con Patty Williams. The menacing character appears on Tuesday, September 15, and throughout the week. Haiduk revealed one of her most challenging plot turns as Patty and how she handled it.
Days of our Lives Casting
A new member of the Vitali clan, the crime family introduced during Tamara Braun’s run as Ava, is surfacing on DAYS. Franco Lo Presti debuts as Dante when he faces off against Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Sydney (Sydney Malakeh) at the high-stakes poker game in Monte Carlo on Monday, September 14. Dante is Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) fiancé.
Tristyn Rowlan appears as Otto on Monday, September 14. Look for the character to be part of the aforementioned poker game.
Sal Stowers is back as Lani Price Grant. The character considers her future on Wednesday, September 16, and listens to Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) make a confession to her on Thursday, September 17. Stowers opened up about her return to the soap earlier this year.
Maggie Carney clocks back in as Rita. EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) presses his executive assistant for information about Dominic Marino on Friday, September 18. Carney weighed in on some fan fiction that paired her character with another Salemite.
The Bold and the Beautiful Casting
A potential triangle is brewing on B&B. During an interview with TV Insider, executive producer/headwriter Bradley Bell revealed that another man will soon be entering Deke’s (Harrison Cone) life. Naomi Matsuda gets more airtime as Dr. Li Finnegan. She shares poignant scenes with her TV son, Tanner Novlan’s Finn, on Monday, September 14, and also airs on Wednesday, September 16, and Thursday, September 17. 1. Matsuda gave fans a tour of the new B&B studio complex.
General Hospital Casting
Kearran Giovanni has nabbed the key GH role of Dr. Nichols, the troubled Anna’s (Finola Hughes) new therapist. Giovanni is no stranger to soaps. She previously played Vivian Wright on One Life to Live (2009 to 2012) and has a long list of credits, including recurring stints on Homestead: The Series, Walker, The Rookie: Feds, and The Resident.
Kayden Brenna Tokarski is back as Scout Cain. She shares scenes with Nancy Lee Grahn’s Alexis and Kristen Vaganos’ Molly on Monday, September 14. (Here are some interesting facts about the talented teenager.)
Alimi Ballard returns as new WSB honcho William Baines. The character interrogates Cynthia Watros’ Nina about Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) disappearance on Monday, September 14.
Troy Lennon Appel resurfaces as the mysterious Hudson Parker. Look for Laura Wright’s Carly to attempt to reach an agreement with Hudson on Monday, September 14.
