Haiduk Dives Into Patty’s Past
Patty is back and has already caused trouble for Jack (Peter Bergman). She slipped a drug into his drink and assaulted him. However, when Diane (Susan Walters) caught them in bed together, she assumed that he was being unfaithful to her.
During a recent appearance on the Michael Fairman Channel, Haiduk discussed some of her crazy storylines on Y&R. Some of them don’t even touch Patty’s long-running obsession with Jack Abbott. Haiduk recalled a time when Patty had a stuffed cat named Mr. Kitty.
“Patty talked to a stuffed, dead cat,” Haiduk said. The cat has been seen on the soap for decades. The DAYS alum wondered if the cat ended up in a “taxidermy place. They do have this whole place in real life. That’s where they rented the Taxidermic cat.”
If Patty were to bring Mr. Kitty back, she would make sure he had his own Instagram account. Haiduk noted that her character has a tattoo of him on her ankle. But when she first heard about this storyline, she was concerned about how she would pull it off.
“I remember when they said, ‘You’re going to be talking to a stuffed or a taxidermic cat. I went, ‘Are you kidding?’ I went home, and I was like, ‘How am I going to do this?'” the DAYS alum said.
What Happened to Mr. Kitty?
As Haiduk previously explained, Mr. Kitty was a taxidermic cat that was likened to an emotional support companion. Patty used the cat during her 2009-2010 storyline when she returned to Genoa City and was mentally unstable. At the time, she regarded the dead cat as a real pet, often talking to it.
Mr. Kitty revealed Patty’s obsession with the cat. She treated it as a living companion since she couldn’t move on from her grief. The cat was eventually written out of the soap when a dog destroyed Mr. Kitty. This led to a mental breakdown in Patty’s already fragile mental state.
The past repeats itself. Whenever Patty returns, it’s never good. She agreed to Victor’s (Eric Braeden) plans in his ongoing vendetta against Jack. Haiduk doesn’t turn down an offer, especially when it involves Jack.
