For the last year, General Hospital has engineered some big Port Charles returns, including Jason, Lucky, Holly, Lulu, and Lucas. This got us thinking about other characters who need to book a trip back to their respective soaps, namely, GH, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Days of Our Lives.
The characters we’d love to see make a big return.
Obviously, we want a lot from Y&R. Even though the show is bringing back Amy Lewis, there are so many characters that could return and spice up the landscape now.
With the split at Chancellor-Winters and Abbott-Chancellor being the company of the moment, Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) needs to hightail it back to Genoa City sooner rather than later. The chaos and toxicity levels are at a maximum. Billy (Jason Thompson) fired Lily (Christel Khalil) for plotting against him. However, he plotted against her to put his stamp (not his mother’s) on the company without expecting anyone to attempt to stop him. Hopefully, Jill’s healthy, so she can come back and clean up this mess. She’s needed.
Noah’s (Rory Gibson) family knows what’s happening with Sharon (Sharon Case). Have they even called him? Then why hasn’t he come home and brought Allie (Kelsey Wang) with him? She’s a calm, reasonable voice who could maybe help her own family out.
Devon (Bryton James) and Nate (Sean Dominic) say they have Lily’s back in this mess she’s a part of with Billy. But, honestly, that doesn’t always track. Plus, Y&R needs to beef up the Winters family. Restore them to their glory. Resurrect Dru (Victoria Rowell) and rehire Olivia (Tonya Williams or recast) at the hospital. In fact, she can have an executive role there. And bring back Lily’s kids, Maddie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry). As far as we’re concerned, the show needs a more young adult presence.
Nick (Joshua Morrow) refers to Christian, but he’s never shown. We assume he’s okay, even though Nick spends much time looking after and protecting Sharon. Also, conversing with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). It’s too bad Morrow’s real-life son, Crew, is already playing Dollar Bill’s (Don Diamont) son on B&B. He could have played Christian.
Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) is Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) son. So, he needs to get back to Genoa City to meet Claire (Hayley Erin). Katie’s (Sienna Mercuri) and Johnny’s (Paxton Mishkind) relationships with Claire are evolving. Plus, he can be part of the young adult crowd that needs to develop.

B&B doesn’t ever have a gigantic cast because of its 30-minute run time. However, we’d love for a couple of key players to make a comeback.
Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) is an integral force at his family’s company. And there’s so much drama he’s missing out on while being engaged to Paris in Paris, France. And now his mom’s suffering from Broken Heart Syndrome when she originally thought she was dying. Come home, Thomas! At least to see the mess Hope (Annika Noelle) has turned into. Dude, she was attracted to Finn (Tanner Novlan)!
Yes, Luna (Lisa Yamada) is in prison, and for good reason, too. But we miss her special brand of chaos. Los Angeles life without her isn’t as fun, and hopefully, the show will let her wreak havoc again. The sadistic part of us would love to see her team up with Sheila (Kimberlin Brown).

DAYS has a slew of returns coming soon and next year. So, we only have one we want to add to the list.
With Holly (Ashley Puzemis) knowing the truth about Eric (Greg Vaughan) accidentally killing Daniel (Shawn Christian) and the Brady (Eric Martsolf) messiness, Holly needs her mother. And we’re not talking off-screen while Holly takes a trip to Paris. Plus, we’d love to see Eric and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) be a happy couple for a change. Nicole needs to be in Salem right now. Or on the DAYS timeline, eight months from now.

Yes, GH had several big returns in 2024. But there are two we’re hoping will come through this year or next.
This one goes without saying. Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) has been “dead” for roughly ten months. Trina (Tabyana Ali) is starting to move on, so this is the best time to reintroduce Spencer. And after seeing Chavez as Lyle Menendez, we’re pretty sure GH will need to recast the role.

If Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) ever returned, her presence would cause an immediate shift and instant drama. It’s like how when Jason (Steve Burton) returned, Drew (Cameron Mathison) immediately broke up with Carly (Laura Wright), knowing he’d have no chance with his brother back in town. Whoever Sonny (Maurice Benard) was seeing at the time would become null and void because she’d be back. Brenda also adds life to her various conversations and confrontations. Make it happen, GH.
