Days of Our Lives star Nadia Bjorlin appeared on Michelle Stafford’s “Single Mom a Go Go”, and gave some surprising responses to Stafford’s questions on motherhood and life.
Irreverent and carefree host Michelle Stafford (Nina Clay, “General Hospital”) asked the actress if her pregnancy had been an easy one.
“You’re expecting the worst at every moment, and as you’re going along you’re like, ‘I’m waiting for all this bad stuff to happen, and it hasn’t,’” new mom Bjorlin said.
While pregnancy and motherhood pose challenges to all women, Bjorlin said they take on unique ones for women in the entertainment industry. People expect actresses to look their best and have the mental acuity it takes to remember lines, she said. She added that having little time to tend to one’s appearance or a lack of sleep can make these tasks difficult.
Bjorlin and husband Gary Turnbull welcomed their son, Torin, in May.
Stafford had a daughter, Natalie Scout Lee in 2009 and a son, Jameson Jones Lee, in 2015. The actress used a surrogate for both children.
Bjorlin reprised the role of Chloe Lane on “Days of Our Lives” just last week.
Stafford left the role she made famous, Phyllis Summers on “The Young and the Restless” in 2013. She created the role of an heiress recovered from a 25-year coma on “General Hospital” soon after exiting Y&R.
