For over a year, former soap star Eddie Alderson (Matthew, One Life to Live) has been battling Hodgkins Lymphoma and sharing his journey to beat this cancer on social media.
In the last few days, the actor, whose motto is “No Surrender,” started a new sort of social media campaign for himself. He was determined to meet his idol, Bruce Springsteen.
The legendary performer has been appearing in his own Broadway play called Bruce on Broadway and Alderson, who lives not far from NYC in Eastern Pennsylvania, had tickets for the show.
So, tweets started appearing with him asking to meet Springsteen after the performance and it looks like that dream came true. Using the “No Surrender” slogan, which is the title of a Springsteen song, he got the musician’s attention.
See the tweets below, as well as posts cheering him on, and the video where it all came together outside the theater. Alderson had “The Boss” write Never Surrender on his arm and he plans to turn it into a tattoo.
Hey @springsteen ! “No Surrender” has been my motto and go-to song throughout my current fight against Cancer. I’m seeing your #BruceOnBroadway show Dec. 27, and would LOVE to get you to write No Surrender on my arm, for my first tattoo! Thank you for being my inspiration! pic.twitter.com/N0gDIVZaSE
