On The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives, Eileen Davidson’s characters haven’t had the best track records when it comes to marital bliss. Granted not every union she’s had onscreen that’s ended has been her fault!
Ashley Abbott, Davidson’s character on Y&R, has lost two husbands to untimely deaths and the rest of her marriages, including two with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), have ended in divorce.
The Emmy-winning actress’s DAYS’ characters (Kristen, Susan, et. al.) likewise haven’t had much success in marriage. “Kristen’s” (actually, Susan disguised as Kristen) had a disastrous wedding day with John when her fake teeth flew out of her mouth into Vivian’s drink!
Off-screen, it’s a very different story! Davidson shared on social media that she and her real-life husband Vincent Van Patten (ex-Christian, Y&R) are celebrating 18 years of marriage!
Van Patten is the son of the late Dick Van Patten (Eight Is Enough) and an actor who has a slew of credits, but perhaps his most enviable onscreen role was the part of Andy Sheffield AKA “The Bionic Boy” in an episode of The Six Million Dollar Man in 1976!
