Here are the latest comings and goings casting news from all five daytime dramas for the week of April 6-10: The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and Beyond the Gates.

The Week of April 6, 2026

Find out if any of your favorite actors and actresses from yesteryear are returning to the shows you watch, if any newcomers have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles, or if any popular performers are about to make their exit.

The Young and the Restless Casting

Shemar Moore returns to Y&R as Malcolm Winters on Tuesday, April 7. The surprise casting news was released last February. Moore originally played Malcolm from 1994 to 2005 and has made occasional appearances since. He also airs on Wednesday, April 8, Thursday, April 9, and Friday, April 10 in scenes with Christel Khalil’s Lily and others.  The actor is back for a limited run.

Joining Moore on his visit to Geno City is Vivica A. Fox, who’s resurrecting the character of Dr. Stephanie Simmons on Tuesday, April 7. Fox initially portrayed Stephanie from 1994 to 1995. Look for Stephanie to have an emotional reunion with Malcolm on Wednesday, April 8. She also appears on Thursday, April 9, and Friday, April 10.  

Roger Howarth returns as mega villain Matt Clark this week. He backs his longtime adversary, Joshua Morrow’s Nick, into a corner on Friday, April 10. Howarth shared his thoughts about Matt’s destructive turn on the soap.

Tina Casciani gets more airtime as Riza Thomson, queen of the Las Vegas underground poker scene in Las Vegas. She shares scenes with Mark Grossman’s Adam and Howarth’s Matt on Friday, April 10.  Here are some interesting facts about Casciani.  

Beth Maitland is back as Traci Abbott on Thursday, April 9. She interacts with Khalil when Traci offers Lily guidance.

Melissa Ordway pops in as Abby Newman Winters. She has emotional scenes opposite Bryton James’s Devon and Michael Graziadei’s Daniel on Monday, April 6.

Days of our Lives Casting

Sofia Mattsson has joined DAYS in a yet-to-be-revealed new role. The actress is best known for her work as Sasha Gilmore on General Hospital, a role she played from 2018 to 2025 (here’s what the actress had to say about her GH departure). Mattson has already begun working on the soap, but because of the show’s advanced filming schedule, it won’t begin airing until early 2027. 

Vico Escorcia debuts as Ari Horton on Wednesday, April 8. She replaces Marissa Reyes as Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Will’s (Chandler Massey) daughter. She interacts with Ashley Puzemis’ Holly when the two teens attempt to repair their relationship.

Galen Gering and Elia Cantu, who portray Rafe Hernandez and Jada Hunter, have been moved to recurring status. The two actors, however, will continue to appear on the soap.

Peter Porte continues his stint as Dimitri Von Leuschner. He airs on Monday, April 6, in scenes with Greg Rikaart’s Leo, when the duo opens up about their feelings for each other. Porte recently opened up about returning to the soap. Porte appears on Thursday, April 9, and Friday, April 10.

Nikki Crawford is back as Lexie Carver. (Check out seven facts about the actress.) Look for the character who was pronounced dead in 2012 to wake up alive on Thursday, April 9. She shares screen time with her TV son, Tyler Joseph Andrews’ Theo.

Al Calderon resurfaces as Javi Hernandez. The character surprises his cousin, Rafe, on Friday, April 10.

Lorelei Olivia Mote gets more airtime as Rachel Black. She shares sweet scenes with her TV parents, Stacy Haiduk’s Kristen and Eric Martsolf’s Brady, on Wednesday, April 8, when they visit her at Bayview Sanitarium.

General Hospital Casting

Nazneen Contractor continues to get more screen time as Justine Turner on GH. Tanisha Harper’s Jordan issues the Port Charles acting district attorney a warning about Sidwell (Carlo Rota) on Monday, April 6. 

Paige Herschell resurfaces as Jacinda Bracken. The former sex worker, who now works as a receptionist at Crimson, interacts with Rory Gibson’s Michael on Monday, April 6. Herschel opened up about her complex run on the soap.

Asher Antonyzyn and Bluesy Burke return as Danny Morgan and Charlotte Cassadine. Look for Danny to pay Charlotte a visit on Monday, April 6. Check out Soap Hub’s exclusive interview with Antonzyn.

Finn Carr is back as Rocco Falconeri. The actor, who’s at the center of Steve Burton’s explosive exit storyline as Jason, was praised by fans for his powerful performance throughout the front-burner plot.

Vernee Watson gets more airtime as Stella Henry. Her character to make a request of Brook Kerr’s Portia on Monday, April 6.

Lynn Herring is back as Lucy Coe. She shares scenes with Amanda Setton’s Brook Lynn on Tuesday, April 7.

The Bold and the Beautiful Casting

Ashleigh Brewer gets more screen time as Ivy Forrester, Electra’s (Laney Grace) meddling aunt. The actress airs on Monday, April 6. Brewer shared her thoughts on her character’s conniving turn, noting that she got pointers from a B&B castmate about embracing her villainous side. The actress also compared the new Ivy to another character on the soap.
