Alison Sweeney wrapped up her Days of Our Lives run last week when Sami left for Italy, but of course, she really wrapped that up six months ago due to the show’s taping schedule.
So the actress has turned her attention to her new Hallmark project, The Chronicle Mysteries — and she’s added a very special actress to her cast.
Sweeney too to Instagram and announced the news that Linda Dano has joined the cast.
Dano first arrived on the daytime scene in 1982 as Cynthia on As the World Turns but most know her as the legendary Felicia Gallant on Another World — a role she created 1983.
ABC soap fans know her as Rae Cummings, who visited every soap on the network at one time.
Dano also joins fellow soap vet Rebecca Staab (ex-Elizabeth Barrington, Port Charles; ex-Jessie, Guiding Light; ex-Cecilia, Loving) as part of the cast.
Sweeney serves as executive producer on the project, along with veteran soap scribe Melissa Salmons, who also has writing duties on it. Sweeney, of course, also stars as novelist Alex McPherson, who investigates the cold case disappearance of her childhood friend, Gina DeSavio.
Sweeney also had the Murder, She Baked series of films which also were aired on Hallmark. The Chronicle Mysteries should debut in March of next year.
