For the last year, General Hospital has been playing a game of flash drive, flash drive, who’s got the flash drive? Remember, last year it ended up inside a disco ball Christmas ornament. And, lo and behold, it’s almost Christmas again.
The flash drive has Drew’s (Billy Miller) memories and it might incriminate Sonny (Maurice Benard) and something, something Margaux (Elizabeth Hendrickson), and, really, who cares?
Do you? Over 5,000 viewers clicked a button to let us know.
Oh, God, no, 95% of you moan, can anybody make it stop? How long are we supposed to hear the same word over and over again? All talk and no action.
Can somebody find the darn flash drive, hold onto it for longer than a minute, download or whatever you’re supposed to do when there’s a human brain involved, upload it back into Drew’s cranium and then NEVER SPEAK OF IT AGAIN???
Would it make Drew more interesting? We don’t know and, at this point, we don’t care. Will it put Sonny behind bars? Ha! That’s a good one! Will it change Drew’s relationship with baby mamas Kim (Tamra Braun) and Sam (Kelly Monaco)? Let’s risk it.
Let’s DO something. Because we sure are tired of just hearing about it.
This story is terrific, a tiny 5% object. You want to find out more about the man Drew used to be, but the idea of Sonny ever paying for a crime he committed is simply anathema to you. It’s this conflict and tension that is keeping you on the edge of your seats!
Soaps have been doing amnesia stories since the beginning of time, so you thought you’d seen them all.
But this addition of a physical item like a flash drive actually makes it fresh and cutting edge. This is a 21st-century twist on a classic 20th-century story, and you’re looking forward to watching all the beats play out.
In fact, you might download the whole thing onto a…you know.
