Actors come and go on soaps, leaving fans bemoaning the loss of their favorite stars.
However, on daytime, there’s always a chance of a return engagement — be it in the role a performer rose to fame in or playing another character on a rival soap. Think Billy Miller switching gears from Billy on The Young and the Restless to General Hospital’s Jason.
Here’s a list of five stars we want to see back on our soaps and in what roles we think they’d fit perfectly.
James Scott
After a superb run as Days of Our Lives’ EJ DiMera, Scott has virtually disappeared. But there’s a role and a show he’d be perfect for: the next incarnation of Adam Newman on The Young and the Restless.
Having worked with Joseph Mascolo (ex-Stefano), Scott could hold his own opposite Eric Braeden (Victor), and we’re betting he’d have instant chemistry with Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea). The only problem? He’d have to ditch the British accent.
Elizabeth Hendrickson
The sublime Hendrickson (ex-Chloe, The Young and the Restless) would be a wonderful addition to any soap. She can play sassy, psychotic, and everything in between, and, frankly, we’re stunned no one has snapped her up already.
Hendrickson could fill the gap soon-to-be left at DAYS, once Arianne Zucker departs as Nicole, as a newcomer with ties to Ben, who starts stirring up trouble for Chad (Billy Flynn) and the Horton clan.
Bryan Craig
While our first choice would be to see Craig resurrected as Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) long-suffering son Morgan on General Hospital, he could tackle any role on any soap.
Having already been part of one daytime crime family, why not have Craig switch over to another; like, say, Days of Our Lives’ DiMera clan? He could play Tony and Anna’s never-before-mentioned son, who’s out to stake his claim to his birthright and the DiMera millions.
Kate Mansi
Mansi won an Emmy for her complex portrayal of the mentally unstable Abigail on DAYS, a gig she opted to leave in 2016. We’d love to see her back… on General Hospital.
She could play a potential new love interest for Michael (Chad Duell) and spice up his lackluster relationship with Nelle (Chloe Lanier) or a Port Charles newbie who develops an obsession for Nathan (Ryan Peavey).
Robert Scott Wilson
Wilson’s brief return to DAYS as madman Ben has only made us want more of the talented actor. There’s a perfect role for him over at CBS, now that Pierson Fodé has split as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Thomas Forrester. He’d be a perfect addition to the first family of fashion, and he even has a real-life modeling background.
