Will This General Hospital Thread Be Picked Up When Felicia Returns?

A lot can be passed down from mother to daughter — blonde hair, blue eyes, spunky attitude, and apparently the pheromones to attract a complete psycho — or at least that seems to be the case for General Hospital mother/daughter duo, Felicia Scorpio and Maxie Jones.

With the exciting news that actress Kristina Wagner is not only back but back on contract, the mind spins at the possibilities for Felicia being back in Port Charles. But as we watch her onscreen daughter Maxie (Kirsten Storms) face off against the horrible criminal Peter August (Wes Ramsey) who has abused her love and trust for what feels like forever already, we can’t help but feel like history is repeating itself.

Like Maxie, Felicia attracted the eye of a certifiable freak named Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom). Yes, that same madman that villainess-in-training Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) seems so fascinated by she decided to intern where he is confined — Spring Ridge.

It never rang true that just because Felicia was now a happy and doting grandmother that Ryan would be turned off to her just like that. After decades of obsession? Seriously? And a similar haircut (at the time) with Ava Jerome (Maura West) would be enough to turn his head towards her and away from Felicia? Really? More likely, Wagner wasn’t available to do that story.

But she is now. Which is why it would be great to see that story, possibly helped along by an accomplice (possibly daughter?) Esme setting Ryan loose — reignited again with Felicia the one to finally take out her longtime nemesis. It’s the least that Felicia, and the audience who invested decades in that story, deserve.
