Ever since Kristina returned to General Hospital this time around, she’d been whining and complaining about her tragic lot in life.
Oh, woe is me, my girlfriend and I broke up. Oh, woe is me, I can’t seem to find a job after dropping out of college (again) except bartending. Oh, woe is me, both my parents are wealthy enough that I can wallow in my misery instead of being forced to pull myself together.
When simply listing the things that were making her unhappy wasn’t enough to magically change the situation, Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) decided to try slugging alcohol while sitting on a park bench.
(When your mom is a lawyer and your dad is the local mob boss, getting ticketed by the police for public inebriation isn’t really a concern). Is she on her way to full-fledged (soap opera) alcoholism?

Sure seems that way, a majority 71% sigh. Not only will it give Kristina something to do, but Sonny (Maurice Benard) can make it all about himself, wailing at the sky about his failures as a parent, and how much his little girl’s pain… hurts him.

Not to be outdone, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will be able to invoke her own 10-minute battle with alcohol, and sob about how her bad genetics have affected her precious baby. So a win-win, really.
Down the Drain
Nah, 29% of you dismiss, this story has been done to death, and there’s no more drama to mine from having Kristina turn to alcohol.
Plus, these stories work best when it’s a character we care about, and Kristina has been all over the place lately, you don’t know what to think about her.
In that case, how will you even be able to tell when she’s sober and when she’s drunk?
