Who Did This Rapunzel Imposter Grow Up To Play On Soaps?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this Rapunzel imposter grew up to be?

Star of The Soaps

Obviously this young woman (now all grown) is either currently starring on, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not much of a hint.

So try these on for size. She is a soap hopper who began her sudsy career on a serial aired on the ABC network. She is also a Daytime Emmy Award nominee and actress who made her on-camera debut as an extra in a film directed by Abel Ferrara.

But just who can she be? Is this a photograph of Adrienne Frantz (ex-Amber Moore, BB), Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams, DAYS), Kathleen Gati (Liesl Obrecht, GH), or Andrea Evan (ex-Patty Williams, YR)?

Adrienne Frantz

Her first acting job was on Aaron Spelling’s daytime effort Sunset Beach (which aired on NBC). She remained in the part for one year before joining the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful. Her work on that series netted her a Daytime Emmy Award (in the Outstanding Younger Actress category), but no, Frantz isn’t today’s featured star.

Susan Seaforth Hayes

Hayes has appeared in a plethora of soap operas, and ABC’s General Hospital served as her entree into the genre. Her work on DAYS has earned her six Daytime Emmy Award nominations and she was the recipient of the annual ceremony’s 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award. But she isn’t today’s mystery child.

Andrea Evans

Sure, Evans did make her acting debut by playing an extra, but it was in Brian De Palma’s science fiction thriller The Fury. And the first soap opera she starred in was ABC’s One Life to Live – for which she earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination (in the Outstanding Ingénue category). But like the three talented ladies before her, she isn’t the answer to today’s identity query.

Kathleen Gati

Gati’s career was jump-started by roles in theatrical productions, and her brief turn in Ferrara’s nunsploitation film Ms. 45. Between 1989 and 1990 she played bad girl Taffy Winslow on All My Children, a now-defunct soap opera on ABC’s daytime lineup. And for her work on the online web serial Winterthorne, Gati was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award.

So if you guessed that perhaps the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Kathleen Gati – who has played General Hospital’s Liesl Obrecht, on-and-off, since August 24, 2012 – then you were absolutely correct.
