They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps but can you guess who this little darling grew up to be?
Obviously this young man (now all grown up) is either currently starring on or is an alum of one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.
So try these on for size. His interest in acting developed when he was 6 years old and he began his career with appearances in commercials. He has appeared in a number of projects for Netflix and Disney and he is a singer/songwriter who’s currently dating a social media star. He also appeared opposite one of his fellow soapers in a non-genre related short film.
But just who can he be? Is this a photograph of Anthony Turpel (ex-RJ Forrester, BB), Freddie Smith (ex-Sonny Kiriakis, DAYS), Ashton Arbab (ex-Dev Cersi, GH), or Tristan Lake Leabu (ex-Reed Hellstrom, YR)?
Sure, Turpel’s very first acting job was a commercial for Trivial Pursuit. And yes, it’s true that he has indeed appeared in a Netflix exclusive series – the Melissa Joan Hart-starring No Good Nick. But he isn’t today’s featured star.
Though he is currently engaged to Alyssa Tabit – his fellow podcaster, co-author (of the self-help book The Pivot Principal) and the creator of an eponymous blog – and despite his work alongside fellow DAYS star Molly Burnett (ex-Melanie) in the music video Give Me Your Hand, Smith isn’t the pictured child.
Everyone who’s a fan of Leabu knows that he plays the guitar and sings. And like the mystery child, Leabu was 6 years old when he became interested in acting – something that he was able to parlay into a (successful) audition for the feature film Superman Begins. But alas, he’s not today’s featured star.
Ashton Arbab (then 6 years old) got his start in commercials for Disney Resorts, the Disney XD channel, and products released by Mattel. He’s also guest-starred in episodes of Netflix’s Alexa and Katie as well as Disney’s Raven’s Home and he’s played a leading role in the Netflix original film Baby’s Sitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting.
He is also a singer/songwriter with a number of singles – including Blue Eyed Baby, I Fall In Like Too Easily, and Spoil You – to his credit. In 2020, he appeared in the short LIT alongside Eden McCoy who plays GH’s Josslyn Jacks. Arbab has been dating social media influencer Sharlize True since April 2019. So if you guessed he was today’s featured child from soaps, you were correct!
