Spencer Cassadine never met his mother, Courtney Matthews, on General Hospital (GH) because she died soon after giving birth to him.
She also died before she had a chance to tell Nikolas he was Spencer’s father and not Jax, but that eventually got cleared up and Nikolas raised his son to a precocious seven-year-old. Sadly, Spencer was burned in a 2015 fire that left his face disfigured.
While he sat at home alone the night of the Nurses’ Ball (well, with servants), hiding out from the world, the ghost of his mother arrived to comfort him. She told him he doesn’t just come from old Russian money, but also her side, whose family didn’t have much money at all.
Courtney also encouraged him to take off his mask because he’d be surprised about what he’d see underneath.
Relive the tender moment between mother and on in the video above.
