Fan-favorite Rebecca Budig has been out of the public eye for a little while, even on social media — though she is hoping to be a little bit better about it — and she wants you to know why.
It was 25 years ago that the actress first hit the daytime scene when she took over the beloved role of Michelle Bauer on the now-defunct CBS soap, Guiding Light. She stayed a couple of years and then moved over to ABC to create the role of Greenlee Smythe on All My Children in 1998. She played that role on and off until 2011 and in 2014, she joined General Hospital as Hayden Barnes for a few years. Her character continues to be discussed quite often and even returned for a short time a couple of years ago.
But while social media has come to play a large part in most of our lives, Budig admits it’s not a huge one of hers — but that may be changing. “I know I don’t post a lot on here,” she began on her latest Instagram post, along with a gorgeous shot of herself. “Mostly because social media is not my thing.
“While I do have my gripes about it,” she continued, “I also understand that it’s a space that can bring people together. AND even though I am terrible at responding to comments, I do try and read each and every one. The past couple of years have been busy in myriad ways..which is why I have decided to take a stab at sharing more on here. Thank you for following along…and for your support.”
This is welcomed news to Rebecca Budig’s many fans who have missed interacting with her. She’s already received a warm response from fans, excited to know she’ll be sharing more — but they also request she return to TV soon. Guess we’ll just have to stay tuned to find out when that happens.
