It has been a rough couple of years for soap opera veteran Tyler Christopher, but he has checked in on social media after a half-year away to reveal to his friends and fans that things are looking better and he’s planning an exciting new move.
Tyler Christopher Moves West
After the actor left the role of Stefan O. DiMera on Days of our Lives back in 2018, he moved to Indiana with his family. Since that time, he and his wife have parted ways. In a post to Instagram on Thursday evening, he shared that things got pretty dark — but now things are looking up!
“Coming back to California,” shared the Daytime Emmy winner. “Miss you friends. After a near death experience in December, doesn’t matter. I’m ready to start over again and get back to work. Can’t wait to see you all!”
This is certainly great news for the actor’s many fans, who have missed seeing him on their television screens, whether it was as Stefan on DAYS or the first role that won him hearts — that of Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital. But while those two roles aren’t available, the rest of Hollywood, including two other soaps, are certainly out there.
Former GH co-star Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny) took over Stefan until the character’s untimely death and now plays his identical twin, Jake. Over on General Hospital, Marcus Coloma took over playing the Dark Prince of Port Charles, who is currently married to Ava (Maura West). West commented on Christopher’s Instagram post with three heart emojis. And she wasn’t the only one.
It looks like his friends and fans are also ready to welcome him back. Former on-screen half-brother Greg Vaughan (ex-Lucky, GH), who he reunited with over on DAYS where Vaughan played Eric Brady until recently responded, “Let’s GO 👊🏼” while Scott Reeves (ex-Steven Lars, GH) wrote, “Amen bro! Happy for you.” So many comments cheered him on and let him know they were thinking of him and how he’s been missed.
