Eve LaRue, who currently appears as Celeste on The Young and the Restless, but will forever be known to ABC soap fans as Maria Santos, revealed that she and her daughter, Kaya, had both recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Eva LaRue Has COVID-19
“Kaya and I got exposed to COVID last week,” LaRue said on actor Jacob Young’s new podcast.
“We thought we had dodged a bullet, but sure enough, on New Year’s Eve, we both tested positive [for COVID],” LaRue shared. The actress is determined to be a model patient!
“Oddly enough,” she says, “I really feel like we’ve been so sick of being scared to death of the invisible monster underneath the bed all last year, always looking over our shoulders.”
LaRue’s ready to beat the virus! “Bring it on!” she challenges. However, she knows that this is serious business. “Nobody knows which one they are. Are they someone who’s going to survive it or succumb to it? Or [will they] have residual effects? All we can do is pray for the best. But there’s no way I’m not going to take it on without [exploring] every knew medical [development]. I’m going in guns a blazing!”
In addition to her appearance on YR, LaRue reveals that she did a few episodes of Family Business on BET. “I have my fingers crossed that they’ll be doing something with this new Pine Valley show,” LaRue adds, referring to the nighttime series in development that’s being produced by AMC alumni and wife and husband team Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley) and Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo).
However, LaRue thinks that incorporating Young and his AMC character, JR Chandler, into the show is key as in the broadcast finale, a gun-wielding JR held everyone in suspense! “They left it hanging on you!” the actress says. “The whole show ended on you!”
