It’s been nearly a decade since we last saw the denizens of Pine Valley and All My Children on ABC and now the show is heading back to our televisions — at night.

All My Children To Be Revived

According to Variety, former AMC stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are producing this new venture that will not be called All My Children but instead will be titled Pine Valley. Also on the production team is Robert Nixon, son of the soap’s creator and longtime headwriter, Agnes Nixon.

While the new series has not yet been picked up, it is in development with ABC and ABC Signature and will feature a new journalist in town who arrives to do an expose on some of the murderous scandals that have happened in this Pennsylvania suburb. The journalist then ends up entangled with the Kane and Santos clans.

While All My Children left the ABC airwaves in 2011, it was soon revived by The Online Network and Prospect Park productions. The series continued until 2013 and litigation later ensued as to who owned the characters, Prospect Park or ABC. Eventually, ABC won back the rights to both AMC and One Life to Live and there have been rumors that both soaps would be revived in some form.

Consuelos and Ripa met on the AMC set in the 1990s where he played Mateo Santos and she played Hayley Vaughan. Both the characters and actors fell in love and wed, with Ripa going on to host ABC’s LIVE for more than two decades and Consuelos starring on a variety of primetime series, including Riverdale.

The pair returned to AMC in 2010 for several episodes but there is no word as of yet if they will appear in the primetime revival, as well as produce it. There is also no news on which actors might return to the soap and their Pine Valley roles.
