General Hospital (GH) was chock full of action-packed storylines in 2017.
The soap pulled out all the stops with plots of every variety – from wild adventures to surprise romances to a double twist nobody saw coming. All in all, it made for a year of intriguing television. But what story was the favorite among fans in 2017? Nearly 13,000 devoted viewers weighed in. Here’s what you had to say.
Tale of Two Jasons
Did we even have to ask? The bulk of fans, some 80%, named the Tale of Two Jasons as the GH story of the year. Bringing back Steve Burton as the original Jason Morgan meant Billy Miller’s version of the character was suddenly an imposter.
It opened up all sorts of possibilities, culminating with the duo being revealed as twins and Sam (Kelly Monaco) finding herself smack in the middle of two brothers she loves.
Anna and Finn
The budding Anna (Finola Hughes) and Finn (Michael Easton) romance nabbed 8% of your votes. The twosome, who started out as friends, grew closer when Anna blackmailed Finn into helping her on a spy assignment.
You loved their bickering and bantering and were absolutely shocked when it led to a surprise kiss. Now it’s opened your eyes to a fabulous new pairing.
Liv Jerome’s Madness
The reveal that Liv Jerome was behind Julian’s (William deVry) inexplicable turnaround and her subsequent reign of terror was 3% of fans favorite story of the year. It explained why Julian turned on Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and attempted to kill her, giving “Julexis” fans hope that they might someday reunite.
Plus, the story brought key players like Sam, Drew (Billy Miller), and Anna to the forefront, as Liv wreaked havoc on all of their lives.
Franco and Liz’s Journey
Some 6% of you enjoyed watching the journey of friends turned lovers Franco (Roger Haworth) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). It’s been a slow steady romance with plenty of obstacles along the way, above all Franco’s habitual lying. But with Elizabeth’s love and support, you’ve watched Franco slowly change and become a better man.
Naughty Nelle
The nonstop lying and scheming of naughty Nelle (Chloe Lanier) captivated 3% of fans. You’re glad the soap finally decided to stop trying to make the character walk the straight and narrow and let her do what she does best – cause trouble. Lanier’s too good at being bad to ever play anything else.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
