It’s hard to just not love young Trina on General Hospital. She’s assertive, smart, sassy, insightful, and does not let anyone push her around. And now it’s been one year since actress Sydney Mikayla brought this young woman to life, who we now know as Trina Taggert.
Mikayla marked her one-year anniversary on GH on Thursday with a tweet of her very first scene in the Webber-Baldwin living room with Josslyn (Eden McCoy), Cam (Will Lipton), and the late Oscar (Garren Stitt).
One year later we learned Trina is the daughter of one of Port Charles’ most memorable cops, Marcus Taggert, who just made his way back to town after years of being out west. However, we still don’t know who Trina’s mother is, but Jordan insists it is absolutely not her.
Watching Mikayla with Maura West now that Trina is Ava’s art protege is another delight and an inspired pairing. The actress has taken a character just meant to be the best friend of a legacy character and made her someone to root for every day.
Aside from her work on General Hospital, Mikayla has several other credits to her name, including a current role in the animated series, Kipo And The Age Of the Wonderbeasts. She’s also appeared in School of Rock, Fuller House, and The Gabby Douglas Story.
Soap Hub congratulates the young actress on her one-year anniversary on GH and we hope to see Trina for years to come. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
