Babies have a tendency to go missing on soaps, in singles and in pairs, and General Hospital (GH) is no exception.
Whenever two women are pregnant at the same time, there is potential trouble afoot… times two! And, in Port Charles these days, we even have the added spoiler of Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad (Parry Shen) looking to adopt – albeit mostly off-screen – as Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) draw closer to their respective due dates.
So, which baby is going to go home with which Mommies and Daddies? Will Nelle end up with someone else’s child? Almost 7,000 wait for the cradle to drop!
And Down Will Come Baby
Yes, Brad and Lucas really want to be parents (both were adopted themselves, so it makes sense they’d choose to expand their own family in this way).
And Maxie is desperate for a reminder of her late husband, Nathan (Ryan Paevey). But Nelle needs her child to bind herself to Michael (Chad Duell) permanently. And she’s the one who is certifiably nuts.
So, if anyone is going to steal a replacement baby, it will be Nelle, 75% of you agree.

Then again, maybe the switch won’t be Nelle’s doing. Maybe Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) will want to “rescue” Michael’s child from Nelle, the way they “rescued” Avery from Ava (Maura West). Could they be the ones to slip her a decoy and ship Nelle out of town?
When the Bough Breaks
Nelle wants Michael’s baby, not somebody else’s, 25% of the audience counters. Plus, she knows Sonny and Carly will have that poor child DNA-tested up one side and down the other. Someone else’s bundle of joy won’t do her any good, so why bother?
Nelle will have her own baby and, if it lives, she will use it to torment the Corinthos family forever. That sounds fun.
