General Hospital (GH) fans have known for over 30 years that Anna Devane has one daughter. Robin. Sure, Anna kept Robin a secret from Robert for the first six years of Robin’s life. But Anna knew where Robin was. And she was there to raise her, albeit as a (blonde) family friend.
All My Children viewers also know that Anna had another daughter, Leora, with David Hayward (Vincent Irizarry) in 2003. The baby was born with heart problems and died during surgery. We have to assume that Anna hasn’t forgotten her, either, although she doesn’t exactly mention her much.
The idea that Anna had a child with Faison (Andres Hove), a man who made her flesh crawl, then gave the child away, never checked to see where he ended up, and mentioned him even less than Leora seems… a bit hard to swallow.
But what if Peter (Wes Ramsey) isn’t that presumed baby? What if Valentin was telling the truth and Anna really did have a girl, instead? Would that make the historical rewrite somehow more palatable for viewers? Here’s what over 10,000 of you had to say.
It’s no use, despair 89% of you. Peter is obviously Anna’s son with Faison, we’re all just going to have to deal with it.
Faison, who was obsessed with Anna to the point of putting on a full-body condom to impersonate her late husband, Duke (Ian Buchanan), never knew she had a secret child, never knew that the child was his, and never bothered to figure out who the mother was of the son who was just presumably dumped on his doorstep one day. That is exactly what happened….
Anyone but Peter, cry the remaining 10%. Sure, make the secret baby a girl. And make her… uhm… Nelle (Chloe Lanier). Or Kim (Tamra Braun), or Amy (Risa Dorken). (Age is irrelevant, here.) Just don’t leave this story as is.
