In addition to Lucas returning, General Hospital spoilers for Friday, October 4, focus on bad behavior, constant reassurances, and all-important advice-giving.
Lucas (new recast Van Hansis, who replaces Ryan Carnes) finally returns to Port Charles, and unlike the last few years, he’ll stick around. While he did attend Bobbie’s (the late Jacklyn Zeman) funeral last January, Lucas has been away from Port Charles for quite a while. And things have changed in his absence.
Brad (Perry Shen) is back working at the hospital, although his return is extremely controversial. Just ask Portia (Brook Kerr). Who will Lucas run into first? There’s a good bet that one of his first run-ins will be with his ex. They are no longer married, thanks to Brad’s bad, illegal, heartbreaking, and toxic choices. Will tension surface in their initial exchanges? And what has Lucas been up to since he’s been gone? Is there someone in his life? Has he been struggling as much as Brad has? We can’t wait to find out.

Apparently, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly’s fake one-night stand, which serves as their fake alibi, continues to be a source of stress for Carly (Laura Wright). First, Carly doesn’t want this, but she’s loyal, and she’ll see this through. Second, their so-called alibi is thin at best. It could fall apart in a moment. No wonder Carly needs Sonny to reassure her over and over and over again. And then one more time after that.
Meanwhile, Ava (Maura West) advises Portia. It’s funny that when Portia gets as down and dirty as most of the rest of Port Charles, she doesn’t mind taking advice from Ava. After all, the art gallery owner somehow survived her recent troubles intact and out of prison. Who better to share her two cents on deviousness and test tampering? Will Portia listen to her advice?

Understandably, Violet (Jophielle Love) is struggling in the wake of her grandfather’s death and her father leaving Port Charles. When she exhibits concerning behavior, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) are worried. Could Violet’s behavior stem from the fact that her father should be done or close to done with his stint in rehab, and there’s no word on his return? Does Violet know something we don’t?
Finally, Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Gio (Giovanni Mazza — find out more about his music here) clash. Frankly, this is also understandable. For some reason, Gio has this knack for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Will the two work through this conflict? Team Trina all the way.
