The General Hospital spoilers for October 9 tease Sonny reassuring Gio, who is struggling with what to believe about his grandfather. Meanwhile, Portia makes her loyalties clear. And Dante’s investigation hits a roadblock. Here’s your Friday preview.

Key Takeaways

  • Sonny reassures Gio as his grandson struggles with doubts about his alleged involvement in the Pentonville attack.
  • Dante encounters a setback in his investigation as his relationship with Sonny remains strained.
  • Portia makes her position clear, while Britt offers a lifeline and Anna shares her expertise.

Not All is Lost Between Gio and Sonny

Gio (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma (Braedyn Bruner) have decided to move in together. While this may be the next logical step in their romance, it’s not all about that. Gio feels he needs to move out of Sonny’s because his grandfather ordered his people to give Sidwell (Carlo Rota) a sound beating (he actually didn’t).

Unfortunately, Curtis (Donnell Turner) was collateral damage. And now half (or more) of Port Charles thinks that Sonny has been lying about getting out of the mob. But at the same time, he feels for his grandfather. Even though Gio believes Sonny was responsible for what happened, he clearly doesn’t want to write him off either.

Thankfully for Gio, it looks like Sonny will understand why Gio is moving out when Sonny reassures him. Knowing Sonny, he will at least put on a brave front for his grandson. But Gio’s leaving will undoubtedly hit him hard.

Dante’s Search for Answers Takes a Wrong Turn

Personally, Dante’s (Dominic Zamprogna) relationship with Sonny is in shambles. But there’s always a chance it could be salvaged. Professionally, Dante’s investigation suddenly hits a roadblock. If this is about what went down at Pentonville, then hitting a roadblock could cause the acting police commissioner to rethink his pure belief that his father ordered the hit.

Portia Makes Her Allegiance Crystal Clear

It feels like it has been a minute since we’ve seen Portia. On Friday, the new mother will apparently make her loyalties clear. If this is a case of Curtis versus Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson), then she will have no problem telling Curtis where to go, even with her ex-husband being in the hospital.

Portia stood by Isaiah when Curtis kept accusing Isaiah of being the other driver the night of Jordan and Curtis’ accident. And she also stood by her man throughout the whole assault situation that landed Curtis in prison. Portia and Curtis may be co-parents of a newborn, but she knows who she will back in the end. And she has no problem telling Curtis so.

In Other Port Charles News

Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) offers someone a lifeline, which is uncharacteristically giving on her part. And Anna (Finola Hughes, GH’s Performer of the Month for September 2026) offers her expertise. She and Carly recently had an interesting conversation.

Carly (Laura Wright) expressed her wish that Anna let Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) help her through this difficult time. Other than Robert (the late Tristan Rogers), he is the only one who really knows what she’s going through.

Anna offering up her expertise could be about Joss (Eden McCoy). Carly’s afraid of Joss’ future now that she’s a WSB agent. Anna could start advising Joss, so she won’t (someday) end up struggling for her life and her mental health like she has been experiencing for the last year.
