GH spoilers for Thursday, July 15, 2021, reveal secrets now out, another one hoping to stay hidden, power up for grabs, and so much more. You won’t want to miss an explosive moment of this new episode.
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) are hot on Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) trail — or at least that’s what they think they’re doing, going to a hospital in New York to find the helicopter pilot. But they also take the time to discuss their evolving relationship at Ryan’s Pub, where Maeve Ryan was singing Danny Boy offscreen (a thrill for Ryan’s Hope fans). He tells her something is happening between them — and how he’s cared for her for most of his adult life — cue women everywhere swooning, even if Anna wasn’t. Or was she just as into it as everyone else? Will she finally admit he’s right?
That hospital is also where Smike (Maurice Benard) awaits Lenny Caulfield’s (Rif Hutton) return. He’s seeing a specialist who is based there. Talking with Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy), he mentions what is and isn’t familiar — did he catch sight of either Anna or Valentin passing through the halls? Will it jog his memory? Actually, a hat on the floor does look familiar! It’s just like his father Mike used to wear, only Smike doesn’t quite make the connection. But he does have a memory of himself talking to Mike, but we don’t get to see it — we only will get to hear it.
While Smike is there, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is following up on that bomb Maxie dropped on her and surprises Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), who thinks she’s been summoned to Nina’s side because of Crimson’s partnership with Deception. Nope, that’s not it at all, but nice try. Instead, Nina lets her have it with both barrels, feeling that the young woman has taken advantage of both Maxie and Valentin. She tells her the person she can’t figure out is BLQ herself. How could she be so cruel? Well, Brook Lynn will explain what was going on at the time — there was a bit of revenge for stealing her family’s company but now it’s all about protecting Maxie’s baby. She’s obviously grown up a lot as she takes care of Louise.
Maxie, having moved on without warning Brook Lynn that she exposed their secret, meets up with her Deception partner. She tells Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) that she’s taking a step back from working at their company, which will take Sasha by surprise. But should it really, since Maxie has been an emotional mess since the night she gave birth? It looks like Sasha can relate to that — as she worries that her baby’s daddy is being pulled into mob life and she has nothing but fear for her child over that. Maxie wisely tells her that she will worry about her baby no matter what is happening with anyone else — that’s called being a mother.
Sasha’s baby daddy has his hands full with his mom. Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) tells her son Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) this is his time and she also faces off with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), probably trying to get Brando more responsibility. Carly lets her know she can be called a lot of things, but family isn’t one of them. But color Gladys thrilled when Joey Novak gets in Carly’s face and Brando saves the day! Surely Carly will see that he deserves a place in her organization. She’s surprisingly not wrong about it. Meanwhile, Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) tells BFF Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) that he can’t imagine a more perfect union than he and Carly. But his own perfect union is now caput. Ellie has walked out on him, not wanting to deal with his return to mob life. Jason feels guilty but Spinelli says it’s an honor to help them. Why that’s more important than his own marriage is anyone’s guess. Maxie is heartbroken for him when he updates her as to why he thinks she should take Georgie with her to Texas when she leaves town to be with family. It’s just not the right time for him to have Georgie full-time. Maxie understands and is grateful to have both her kids with her.
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) could be a perfect union if she gives them another shot. They address the tension between them but she’s determined to not be the rebound woman. Portia seems to think they can just compartmentalize but Curtis doesn’t see it as being that simple. Will he be able to talk her into giving their love a fair shot? TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) has better luck with a second chance at his friendship with Brando. The two young men bury the hatchet and return to being pals.
