General Hospital spoilers for new episodes are on indefinite hiatus until it’s safe to begin taping the ABC drama again. However, when the soap finally does get back into production, it has the potential to return with a bang.
The show has two aces up its sleeves in the form of two leading men that got away – Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Bryan Craig (Morgan). If they both could be lured back to the fold, it would provide major PR buzz and give General Hospital a huge boost.
Zamprogna has already gone on record saying he’s ready to sign a contract and head back to the soap full time as Lulu’s (Emme Rylan) ex-husband Dante. Given the character’s complex backstory – he’s been suffering from PTSD following a WSB undercover operation that left him physically and emotionally scarred – the possibilities are riveting.
Is he still the Dante viewers knew and loved in any way, shape, or form, deep down at his core? Or has the former by-the-book cop crossed over to the dark side to the point of no return?
A darker, more dangerous Dante would shake things up in Port Charles. Mama Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) would surely move heaven and earth to bring back the son she adores, but, perhaps, the new Dante would feel more connected to his mobster dad, Sonny (Maurice Benard).
Imagine the effect Dante being back would have on Lulu and their son Rocco’s lives, and what his reintroduction would mean for Lulu’s relationship with Dustin (Mark Lawson)? Add Dante’s old friend Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) to the mix and it has all the makings of a fiery quadrangle.
Morgan’s return would pack an even bigger wallop. Since the cancellation of his primetime series Grand Hotel, actor Bryan Craig has only appeared in a pair of movies. Maybe the actor would be willing to head back to the soap for another run. It would certainly rev things up for the Corinthos clan.
Sonny and Carly’s (Laura Wright) son has been dead since he was the accidental victim of an explosion rigged to kill Julian (William deVry) in 2016. If he was alive, the story of where he’s been and what he’s gone through and been up to since that fateful day would be fascinating.
Imagine Ava (Maura West) learning the former lover, whose “death” she played an integral part in was alive? Would they rekindle their relationship or would Morgan seek revenge?
Plus think of all the other Port Charles ladies Morgan could possibly hook up with, like his brother Michael’s (Chad Duell) exes, Sasha (Sofia Mattson), or the evil Nelle (Chloe Lanier), or the sweet kindly Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). The possibilities are endless. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
