The General Hospital spoilers for June 15-19, 2020 reveal a special week dedicated to the ups and downs (and there are a LOT of downs) of fan-favorite couple Sonny and Carly.
For the past three weeks, viewers have been offered the chance to relive some of the best performances offered at the Nurses Ball. Now, GH is prepared to offer five episodes celebrating Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) oh-so-complicated love story. CarSon fans, this is for you!
Sonny and Carly aren’t about to let a little ol’ thing like a terrorist invasion spoil the progress of their love affair. So while “Mr Craig,” AKA Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roche), terrorizes the various hostages he has taken at the Metro Court, the supercouple re-declare their love for another.
The episode airing on Tuesday, June 16 transports viewers back to September 24, 2013. Sonny goes off his bipolar medication and begins to spiral. Enter Carly, the only person with the ability to convince him to resume taking the lithium.
Running a mob empire is a serious, dangerous business. Sonny had been poised to marry Carly but an assassin’s bullet ruined that plan. The slug lodged itself precariously close to Sonny’s spinal cord, making surgery a risk that the surgeons and GH weren’t ready to take.
However, the bullet’s sudden shift had caused Sonny’s heart to stop, so a trip to the emergency room became his only chance at survival. While the doctors perform their miracle, Carly takes to the hospital chapel and recalls her and Sonny’s storied history.
On Thursday, June 18, here come wedding bells. Sonny has survived his surgery and he and Carly are determined to take advantage of that blessing with a quickie wedding inside the chapel.
Friday’s episode finds the couple in a truly dark place. Morgan (Bryan Craig) has recently perished – the unintended victim of Olivia Jerome’s (Tonja Walker) takeover plan. Carly unleashes her rage on Sonny and blames him for their youngest’s (at the time) death. If it weren’t for his dealings with the mob, their baby would still be alive! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
