General Hospital spoilers for Monday, December 23, 2019, reveal a day of make-believe and flights of fancy. You won’t want to miss a moment of this other-worldly episode.
It’s Christmas in Port Charles, so of course, Monica (Leslie Charleson) is reading a story to the kids at General Hospital — A Christmas Carol. For Finn (Michael Easton) it becomes all too real as he’s living the life of Scrooge.
This, of course, means he’s about to experience a lot of shocking news about the way he’s lived his life — the past, the present, and the future.
The fun begins though when other familiar faces from town turn up to play a part in this story-come-to-life… starting with a wine-swilling ghostly version of Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). She’s there to awaken poor Scrooge out of a sound sleep and scare the stuffing out of him. But she’s only the first, and there’s more to come.
Scrooge is scared of her and wondering what she wants from him. Other visitors will haunt him almost as much — including one from Franco (Roger Howarth), who embodies Bob Cratchit, so earnest as he’s seen happy with his family despite having so little with which to celebrate the holiday season.
Filling out his family is a version of Liz (Rebecca Herbst), Cameron (William Lipton), and Jake (Hudson West), who seem to know that all one needs during the holiday season is love — and that’s something they have plenty of — unlike Scrooge. Interspersed with the story are bits of Port Charles reality… including the return of Tracy (Jane Elliot)!
But back to the story, a very scary version of Ava (Maura West) takes Scrooge McFinn to the cemetery where he not only sees something shocking — he also gets tossed into an early grave. But things will …continue reading on the next page —>
But back to the story, a very scary version of Ava (Maura West) takes Scrooge McFinn to the cemetery where he not only sees something shocking: He also gets tossed into an early grave. But things will definitely look up when another guide in the form of Josslyn (Eden McCoy) shows up on the scene.
The Scrooge tale is usually reserved for someone who isn’t appreciating what he has and needs to learn the lesson that changing his ways and being more generous may help find him the life he truly wants to live. It seems to be spurred on by a comment Robert (Tristan Rogers) makes to Finn.
Will all of this cause Finn to embrace what he has and be grateful for the holiday season? Or will it be more dear friend Tracy’s arrival that crystalizes what’s important? General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
