General Hospital spoilers for January 22, 2024, feature characters being active about their business and their payback. Do not miss this episode.
For Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl, who talks Esme and Heather here), there’s an upside to having a mom who lives in a psychiatric facility. She accepts your darker tendencies full stop. In fact, it’s a good bet Heather (Alley Mills) would rather face an Esme with all of her memories than some Stepford version with amnesia.
Lately, Esme’s been running on panic, desperation, and anger. The next logical step is another visit with the mom who birthed her but didn’t raise her. In this case, Heather’s the perfect person to turn to for support. Actually, she’s the only person to support her this side of Laura. Even locked up, Heather’s strangely resourceful and would have no problem going above and beyond for her daughter.
For better or worse, Laura (Genie Francis) is the type of person to exhaust all options in the name of her family. Now that she knows what happened to Ace (Joey and Jay Clay), it looks like she’s going to do what she can to ensure his safety. That must be why she consults Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) for all the legal avenues regarding Esme and Nikolas’s (Adam Huss) little boy.

Meanwhile, the anger Drew (Cameron Mathison) is feeling for Nina (Cynthia Watros) is palpable. His veins practically burst every time he talks about her. For him, the perfect cure is to make good on his promise to make Nina pay. No doubt it involves Aurora Media and one of its top divisions, Crimson, which Nina runs. Is the end of Crimson the reason why Nina’s reeling? Or something else?
Despite Scott (Kin Shriner) and Lucy (Lynn Herring) knowing Tracy (Jane Elliot) is a formidable opponent, they’re going all in on their plan to fleece the Quartermaine queen. Little do they know that Tracy is on to them. As a result, the next phase of this con means Tracy and Scott have to engage in a battle of wits. Is it too soon to call this a win for Tracy?
Finally, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) have a question for Gregory (Gregory Harrison), who’s really looking forward to his son’s wedding. It’s the reason why they’re planning to have the celebration sooner than they had originally wanted. Does the engaged couple want to get Chase’s dad involved in their wedding?
