What happens when you tell performers they have to avoid an audience in order to stay safe from the coronavirus? They get creative, that’s what! Nancy Lee Grahn gathered her soap pals, General Hospital co-star James Patrick Stuart and his former leading lady Michelle Stafford, now back at The Young and the Restless, to entertain fans while they’re cooped up.
Brave New Coronavirus World
No one is enjoying doing the right thing and staying away from people but in this time of the coronavirus, it is what has to be done. Grahn needed an outlet and corralled one of her besties, Kaore Bonell, to help her co-host a podcast with her pals.
As they talk about in the podcast below, it’s hard for actors to not have an audience or a way to perform, so the GH actress, who plays Alexis, thought talking about that and what they’re all going through in this setting might help others or at least entertain — and it certainly does that! She shared the news of the endeavor on Twitter.
“[email protected] video recorded @TheRealStafford @japastu & moi trying to lighten the moodish. We will not be singing ‘Imagine’ & don’t think we’re relevant at all. Just wanting to connect with you. As soon as I get the link, you will. Hang in there. We are all the same in the same boat,” she wrote. You can watch the podcast below.
Stars of Soaps
It’s a hilarious blend of megawatt stars as they share their struggles — Stafford (ex-Nina, GH; Phyllis, YR) as a single mom to two young kids, Grahn helping care for someone whose immune system is compromised, and Stuart with sons who are fighting due to the stress of the situation.
One of the topics covered is which star is a bigger Julexis (Grahn’s Alexis paired with William deVry’s Julian) fan and their attempts to prove their devotion to the pairing. Also, Stafford had to pick which YR character would be the worst at social distancing. But, there is also so much more. Check it out below.
