Emma Samms is known for two roles in serialized dramas. First, she was Holly Sutton Scorpio on General Hospital. Then, she became Fallon Carrington Colby on both Dynasty and its spinoff The Colbys. Now, the actress is putting together a charity get together with cast members from one of those shows.
“So… Some exciting news!,” Samms posted on her official Twitter account. “I’m organising an online DYNASTY REUNION (unofficial, of course) on Saturday, March 20th, as a fundraiser for research into #LongCovid. More details and tickets on sale [soon]. #dynasty.”
Samms was introduced to soap fans in the summer of 1982. The actress was brought on to GH to be a love interest for Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary). Her character, Holly, was a con artist, who turned over a new leaf after falling in love with Luke. After Luke was presumed dead in an avalanche, Holly, pregnant with his child, faced deportation.
Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), Luke’s best pal, stepped up and married Holly to keep her in the country and to give Luke’s child a name and a father. Holly miscarried, but she and Robert ended up falling in love. They decided to remain married. Holly was stunned when Luke returned; he kept the fact that he was alive a secret until he could learn to walk again following injuries he sustained in the accident.
Holly and Robert emerged as supercouple on the show. Together, they solved crimes and bantered with the best of them. Samms did double-duty for a bit starting in 1985 after she was cast on Dynasty as Fallon, taking over the role of Blake (John Forsythe) and Alexis’ (Joan Collins) daughter, who’d been presumed dead in a plane crash.
Fallon, suffering from amnesia, was going by the name Randall Adams. Ironically, she met Miles Colby (Maxwell Caufield), Jeff’s cousin. Jeff (John James) spied Fallon, but she sped off before they could reunite. Eventually, Fallon, with the help of a psychiatrist, realized that she was Fallon — not Randall.
In the series finale of The Colbys, Fallon spies a UFO. She boards it and it takes off with her inside! With The Colbys canceled, Fallon and Jeff return to Dynasty. Fallon and Jeff split; she sparred with his new love, Sammy Jo (Heather Locklear), and became involved with Det. John Zorelli (Ray Abruzzo), who was investigating the death of Roger Grimes. Fallon recalled that she killed Grimes as a young girl in order to protect her mother!
“What a wonderful cause and a fun idea!! Best of luck and we’d all love to help!!” tweeted @Matson_4412. “Just please, don’t forget about #GH.” Samms tweeted in response: “I promise I will never forget about GH.” Soap Hub will report on details of Samms’ Dynasty reunion as they become available. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
