General Hospital Poll Results: Is Holly Really Most Sincerely Dead?

General Hospital fans were stunned the show even remembered Robert once had a wife named Holly. Granted, it was merely so they could kill her off – off-screen, no less. But there have been encouraging signs.

Robert (Tristan Rogers) recently recalled how they got together in the first place: That time, Luke (Anthony Geary) was presumed dead, Holly (Emma Samms) was pregnant with his baby, and Robert married her so she wouldn’t be deported. (Why he couldn’t have pulled some strings with the WSB, we’re not sure, but the results were certainly worth it.) Holly lost the baby, but she and Robert ended up falling in love.

They were considered the happiest married couple on daytime (the soap opera version of Nick and Nora Charles, or Jonathan and Jennifer Hart) when Anna (Finola Hughes) showed up. That was the first time Holly “died.” Have reports of her demise been greatly exaggerated for the second time? Here’s what almost 2,000 fans told us:

Bring ‘Em Back Alive

It was a blowout, as 98% of the audience told us in no uncertain terms that they didn’t believe Holly was any deader this time than she was the last. This is obviously a plot by Peter (Wes Ramsey) to keep Robert distracted and out of his business.

What do you think? Post a comment!

Peter wants to keep playing Anna’s deadbeat mama guilt for all its worth, and he – rightly, we hope – suspects learning about all the horrible things Peter has done might get in the way of that.

Robert would love to bring his ex-wife’s prodigal son down. Better to make him all maudlin about the wife who got away. You have no doubt Holly will pop up again. Sooner rather than later would be nice.

She’s dead, the 2% of you who have never watched soaps before shrug. Or maybe it’s just that you don’t trust this writing team’s memories… or intentions. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
