Soap Hub Performer of the Week for GH: Sydney Mikayla

Sydney Mikayla may be leaving General Hospital but the show’s writers offered the fan-favorite actress the opportunity to deliver a tour-de-force as her character, Trina Robinson, blasted Esme Prince for her duplicity. Soap Hub is bestowing Performer of the Week honors on Mikayla for her outstanding work!

Sydney Mikayla – Performer of the Week

Drama exploded after the video of Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) making love for the first time was made public and while the lovebirds zeroed in, appropriately, on Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), the crafty young lady shifted the blame to Trina. Esme used the fact that she and “Spence” (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) had left the cabin before the romp took place to support her lying implication that Trina had recorded the couple. Cam said there had to be an explanation. “Oh, there is,” Trina assured her pals as she glared at Esme. “You guys were set up.”

Trina didn’t have direct evidence that Esme was the villain but her past crimes — sending Avery a Teddy Bear with Ryan’s voice on it — indicated that she’s the likely candidate behind Joss and Cam’s sex scandal. “When someone shows you who they are? Believe them!” said Trina, shooting a look at Esme after the conniver tried to pass off her past crimes as mere mistakes.

Esme wasn’t Trina’s only target for her ire. When Cam suggested they all not do this right now, Trina stopped him by saying, “I don’t want to do this at all, Cam…but Esme is coming for me and I’ll be damned if I don’t defend myself.’

Esme apologize for ‘pushing Trina over the edge,’ which prompted Trina to grow even angrier. Evil Esme accused Trina of having dysfunction issues. “Who the hell are you calling dysfunctional, you conniving bitch?” Trina responded as Sydney Mikayla brought more strength to her role.

Esme retreated after the trio let her know she wasn’t welcome. Too bad. We would have loved to have seen Trina trounce her nemesis more fully. Sydney Mikayla will be missed dearly by legions of GH fans. The actress has delivered many memorable performances over the last three years including this recent one in which Trina knocked Ms. Prince off her throne! Brava to Sydney Mikayla and best wishes as you pursue your education and on future roles!
