Soap characters spend much of their lives trying to keep secrets from coming out, but they inevitably come to light. Now, Days of Our Lives star Melissa Reeves (Jennifer) and former General Hospital star (Steven Lars) share a real-life secret on which she’s been gleefully sitting! They are expecting another grandchild thanks to their son, Larry.
Congratulations to Scott Reeves and Melissa Reeves
“This was so hard to keep a secret🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 baby reeves September 2020!!!!!” Reeves says. “Beyond grateful and blessed ❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻 2 grand babies in 2020🙌🏻❤️🙌🏻❤️🙌🏻❤️ @twoandyonder.”
The Reeves already announced in January of this year the news that they are becoming grandparents for the first time as their firstborn, daughter Emily, is expecting a child.
As veteran soap fans recall, Scott and Missy met on the DAYS set when he played the short-term role of Jake in 1988. He soon landed his landmark role as Ryan McNeil on The Young and the Restless. Ryan juggled two loves — Victoria (then Heather Tom, now Amelia Heinle) and Nina (Tricia Cast) — during his tenure.
Scott and Missy graced the covers of many soap magazines over the years and soon began including their children in photo features.
Emily was born in 1992. Larry (who is named after both Scott’s paternal grandfather and Missy’s older brother) was born in 1997.
Scott was killed off on YR in 2001 after a decade of playing Ryan and his psycho ex Tricia (Sabryn Genet) tried to kill Victoria and, instead, Ryan took the bullet. He joined the cast of General Hospital as Dr. Steven Lars Webber in 2009, checking out from the ABC medical drama in 2013. Next, Reeves joined the cast of the country music-themed series Nashville as Noel Laughlin.
Soap Hub sends sincere congratulations to the Reeves family on being twice blessed and their impending bundles of joy. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
