Matt Cohen Fred Grandy General Hospital
When Griffin had a talk with his priestly mentor yesterday on General Hospital (GH), we thought he looked familiar, but couldn’t quite place him.
After the show aired, GH tweeted that was none other than Fred Grandy giving Griffin the advice he needed as he struggled with staying true to his vows.
Classic TV fans will remember Grandy not only as Gopher on The Love Boat in the 1970s and 1980s, but also as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Iowa from 1987-1995.
Grandy ended his nine-year Love Boat run to give politics a try, and his political career ended when he lost the Republican primary for Iowa governor in 1994.
The actor was a good guy on the Pacific Princess and was definitely one of the good guys on GH this week as a priest.
